Flying in Goma

Hi everyone... I am a (boring) airline pilot in Asia flying widebodies and I am going on holidays to Rwanda in March. Since I used to be a bush pilot flying all sorts of pistons and turbo props in the 3rd world (not in Africa, but not far off) I was wondering if any of you GA guys in the DRC are keen to take me out and show me how it's done over there during a day's work. It's a very long shot but I thought I give it a go... Dinner and beers are on me...

Cheers
AB
ps.: I always wanted to fly in Africa but never made it over there.

Yes you are very boring to go on holidays to Rwanda and Congo ja ja ja.

Try AirServ, they fly Caravan, is a USA airline. There are some Let410 based in Goma.

Wow...i never ever thought of people choosing Rwanda as a destination for holidays...
Rwanda ( and Burundi ) are both very beautiful countries and among the few in Africa that are generally improving their situation... odd when you think of the 90s horror of war that they experienced... as for Goma, well..

Rwanda is a great place. Kigali is clean and has some new hotels. City and people are great and you are close to the mountain gorillas ( not the 2 legged armed variety) which i believe is a chance of a lifetime to see. Feel safer in Kigali than Johannesburg.
