Johannesburg - A light aircraft crashed in Grasmere on Sunday morning, killing its two occupants, Gauteng police said.
The plane crashed at 08:40, it is believed that it was attempting to land, said Senior Superintendent Noxolo Kweza.
The plane, which is owned by Northwest Aviation, had arrived from Rand Airport.

The pilot/co-owner was a friend and respected physician from Johannesburg. Enthusiastic aerobatics pilot who participated in his first competition, and winning a medal, just last week. Did not know the co-pilot, just by name. Families still to be informed.
