Now, it's been more than a few years since I've had a beer in Luanda.
Are the Viking Club and other such places still going? Where do the people hang out these days?

Yep,
Viking club still in operation every Thurday night in the former Swedish embassy building - they have a website with directions if you google it.
Apart from that, expats hang out at the yacht club (Clube Nautico) on a Friday night and Sunday afternoon and down on the Ilha (Miami beach or Coconuts) for the rest of the weekend.
Pub Royale is also still in operation if you're looking for that sort of entertainment!!
