I did some flying for Rwanda Express Airways on a 732. Brilliant company. Staff professional, allways on time, hotel accomodation good and a pleasant airline to work for when it comes to African Airlines.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear, what are you interested in? Information on using Rwandair or information on getting a job with them? Or are you looking for information on Rwanda/Kigali etc?
Pretty close to them so I should be able help.

Hi,
At the moment they have an agreement with Air Namibia for the Johannesburg flights three time a week 737-500 I think. They were looking for an aircraft to buy but they have now gone from looking for 737's to looking for CRJ's. They have Dash 8's onthe regional stuff and CRJ's from Jetlink doing Nairobi and Entebbe.
Kigali is safe but a little expensive. Not too much to do but there is a groing expat community and things are looking better. There is a new supermarket from Kenya and even a casino if thats your thing. The beer is cheap and really good.

What about MD80s, I know they use else one MD87, are they looking for MD to add in fleet? I've got rumors about one.
And what about expatriate community, could you clarify more?
And how much to rent hose?
I never been in Rwanda but I've been in Goma RDC, if place like that, It's very nice Place.
Thanks in advance!

The md's left about two years ago and were replaced for a short time by a Malawi Air 737. When that was due for maintenance then the deal with Air Namibia kicked in.
There are about 6000 expats livingin Rwanda. Mostly Americans but some Europeans and South Africans.
A house will cost about $1500per monthand an average meal about $20. The countryside is similar to the DRC but infrastructure is better. Not a bad life if you don't miss the fast lane.
