Air link aircraft on fire????.

Heard from someone this afternoon that their sons flight was delayed because the aircraft that they were meant to be on caught fire in Jhb.
Apparently it was the flight back from Margate.
Does anyone know if this is a bullsh2t rumour or if it is true.
thanks.

Apparently not an engine fire as such ... it was only a seal that went - caused oil to leak onto hot parts of the engine which caused the smoke...

(Excuse the non-technical description)

Thanks.

Thanks for that......the way my friends ex husband, (the d??s that he is),explained the problem, was that the whole aircraft was burning and the whole of Jhb international had to be evacuated.
..
It reminds me of the girl that was suntanning topless next to me today.....well actually she was lying on her tummy with her bikini top undone.

both stories are similar.

Goffel...(still hoping for the topless).

haha .. I do know that emergency services were actioned - obvious safety precautions - so there were fire engines around the A/C etc.... so to some it would have seemed as if JIA was in a state of emergency
