Still waiting...

I went for an interview once for a job as an air taxi pilot up in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, just a Mickey Mouse job flying checks in an Aztec. Very positive interview, smiles all around, "We will get back to you..."

That was 1979, I think. Still waiting...

I don't mind the "We hate you and you stink and all the other pilots in the world would have to drop dead first before we would even DREAM of hiring pond scum such as yourself," as long as that answer comes within a reasonable period of time. The ones that are killers are when you think, "Ah! They love me! I am in like Flynn," so that you stop searching and just wait for the goose to drop a golden egg in your lap. Wrong-oh! That was just some guy who hates to disappoint someone to his face, a coward.

I have been in this position myself a number of times ,the best was with Safair where I was at one stage nr 2 on the shortlist( 1990) and I still havent been appointed,so this practice appears to be not uncommon !! Well today I have landed myself a job which I believe is better than the one I am still waiting for a starting date, so good luck with your job hunting.......we have all been there!!

I think one of the best and funniest truisms (or whatever that word is)...., was when someone on this site said, "You know the rumour about new aircraft or conversions is true when he calls V1!". So real.
