DANA Air Nigeria

Dana Air's new MD80 series 5N-DAL is currently parked at the MMA2 terminal at DNMM. Anybody have an idea what these guys are up to?

They are coming.

I know for a fact that crews are presently being trained in Miami.

The crew base will be in somewhere in Lagos. Rotation might be 20 on 10 off.

I wish them all the best. Competition is a good thing.

Does anybody know if Dana is a serious operator? I´m talking standards, training, 3-5 year business plan, etc. What kind of innovations are bringing in, if any? Earlier they announced their business model as ¨low cost airline¨ but today´s press release mentions a premium cabin with 12 seats, in addition to the 128 economy cabin...

I sincerely wish them the best, in any case. Agreed, competition is heating up

Aoc Or What????

Aoc or not.
When you have that combination of a**holes like the ones you have on their management team? You can see where that carrier is going!!!
All the best to those gullible enough to get drawn into the confusion they're about to start out there.

Devil

Well I hope that if they still have the same management, at least they'll make sure the main wheels are properly attached for any future operations

I will like to know if DANA (5N-DAL) operated today as scheduled?

And if indeed they ordered 10-12 aircrafts, and with the up coming deliveries for VNA, ARIK, AERO, etc,I guess MMA2 will have too much to handle.

ALPHABRAVOBRAVO, dont you realise the new MM2 is like the tardis in reality it can accomodate an infinite number of aircrafts. thats y the govt is moving all carriers there. I wish DANA all the best in their efforts but did they check out the competition before thinking of starting up?

be very carefull

This "operator" is managed by very inexperienced people who have failed in other companys.
This company also has no experienced engineers, there is a cashflow problem aswell.
They intend to start operating very soon and the aircraft spares, Ground support equipment, tooling and anything else you care to mention have not been organised.
The selected chief pilot has failed in the sim!

Its "aircraft"!!!!!

Gents & Ladies......There is no such word as "aircrafts".
Its aircraft and nothing else, whether its one Aeroplane or
hundreds of Aeroplanes....
Do you people who say "aircrafts" know how stupid and uneducated you sound?

Been trying to get this answer elsewhere. What is going on at MMA2? Is it true, as some have said, that if Arik Air were operating from MMA2 (as they were ordered to by FAAN along with VK) and not from the GAT, there would not be enough space for all the scheduled flights? Is it true Bicourtney asked VK to scale down their departures?

Frangible,

The answers to your questions are true & not sure. I'm not aware if they specifically told VK to scale down, but it was obvious to VK that MMA2 couldn't handle the full schedule & aircraft types that were scheduled so they scaled down- B767 to ABV from MMA2?
