Hey eagle 135,
you could of done a search, but here goes.
Aero as it is fondly called is the oldest (49yrs) private aviation company in Nigeria. started off as a wholly owed subsidiary of Schreiner airways of the Netherlands. became a joint partnership with a Nigerian investor in the '70's.That partnership is now 7o% Nigerian with the Ibru family holding all aand CHC holding the rest as well as being the technical partner
Aero until 2003 was mainly an Oil and Gas industry player. 2003 they started domestic operations as well and also introduced the 737 into their fleet. They are well respected by the Nigerian and West African travelling public. They are expanding on both the rotary and fixed wing divisions.
Pilots and Engineers are from diverse back grounds..Canadians, South americns, British, Dutch, Nigerian, South East Asian etc..
Expats have a choice of a 6/6 or 8/4 rotation inn weeks on and off respectively.
Accommodation, feeding and transportation to and from work is provided for expats
Renumeration is competetive
Also check the rotorheads forum..."what's new in West Africa" thread.
do a google search as well.
SHU
Hope this helps

SHU,
Thanks a lot for sharing to me your very informative data. I appreciate it very much.
Does Aero pay the weeks-off? What sort of accommodation do they provide? Is there a free confirmed ticket also for the weeks-off?
I've surf from the net that they are acquiring 7 737-500 this year. Has any of these 73's arrived in Lagos?
Please pardon my curiosity. I will do some research about Aero, too.

HI there,
Aero is probably one of the best companies to work for in Nigeria. Aero is partly owned by CHC canada. they have a fleet of about
Dash 8- (12)
B737-300- (3)
B737-400-(2)
lj45-(2)
hs125-(1)
Aero also has over 30 helicopters based in Nigeria for the oil and gas sector. depends on your negotiating power, some expats have 6 wks on 6 wks off, some are 6/4, so it all depends. Try to negotiate directly with CHC canada. you'll probably get a better deal.Nice place to work with a pretty ok guest house...hope this stirs you in the right direction...all the best

Rumour on the Rotorheads 'Whats new in West Africa' thread is that there is a big spat between the Ibru family and CHC, especially now that CHC is being bought by an American investment company which means the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act will have to apply.

Thank you guys. I appreciate you for sharing to me all this info.
I'm currently flying the B737-300 EFIS and I hope to land a job with Aero as I've surfed on the net that they are acquiring 7 B737-500 within this year.
Skygod - do you have any idea how can I apply with CHC Canada? Thanks

Forget CHC, they are not flying fixed wing in Nigeria. The fixed wing side of the Aero operation is now all Aero. Expats offered a new deal with a company set up outside Nigeria by Aero.
