SA CAA strike looms

I heard from a buddy at the weekend that Nehawu members @ the CAA are contemplating strike action over salaries. Apparently the CCMA has granted them a certificate for such a strike as of today. What are the implications for local carriers flying regionally, to Europe and the US bearing in mind that some 70% of staff belong to the union?

...and lest not forget the inevitable car stoning and general civil disobedience that goes along with a "strike"...just cast your memories back two years or so. A strike without at least some destruction would be pointless...

Strike looms

Just checked with my buddy after seeing nothing in the papers. Seems
the guys have got cold feet - feeling is they will lose too much money so have backed down.
