which way comm pilot?

What option would you chose given the following?
You got just enough money to see you through the following options.
- Do you comm IF including multi engine rating.
OR
-Go for a single engine comm IF and do instructors rating.
OR
-Go for a single comm and add a caravan rating on top.
The above scenario applies to a citizen of an east african republic who would be glad to find work flying in Tanzania and equally happy to remain behind and instruct in S.A
Your inputs and opinions highly appreciated.

Best is get Single IF Comm and Van rating...

Take up a job opportunity asap. IAW get to a school that gives you an instructor rating and a job thereafter. That's what I'd do...

I would get 210 rating or van rating and head straight to botswana or somewhere up there... good luck

hey ,
for your info : when you convert your SA licence , it won't matter if you have multi or single IR coz you'll have to redo a flight test and your local IR will depend on your local test .Van useless without IF . Instruction always good , even for coming home . Tz lots of opportunity .Kenya ...well if your pseudo is indicative of citizenship , I wouldn't worry too much ...

I would suggest going for the instructors rating. World shortage of those now and probably one of the fastest ways to find a job. Van and multi will come in time. either way you go, best of luck.

you are sadly mistaken. My uncle became a doctor (in Aus now), at the age of 26 I earned double his income....go figure.

Where to?

Well - when you make it through NAV exam - start doing it take a Career Map.

Look at your destination - Probably Capt. in a Wide Body Airliner?

Take the Protractor Look at your current position. Then talk to the Recruitment or chief pilot of a major airline and ask the following:

What do you want me to have to employ me as a pilot?

Take notes & go back to career map. Plot the route that you can follow to get to the requirements.

I need 250 hours total time, CPL multi engine rating with I.R to get into kenya airways. Additionally I need to have scored at least a B in Maths, Geography, English and One science which I gladly did.
And it would even be easier to join if your father is a captain of sorts there or calls some shorts in k q.
Else you should be able to pass your aptitude test, your psychometric test and impress some interview panel.
Do I plot a rhumb line?
