Hi to all ... does anyone know where or who I can rent a light aircraft from in Mauritius ... either private or through a club.
I am due to holiday there soon and my wife is Mauritian and I would love to show her the Island from the air.
I am a UK JAA PPL with 300+ hours on singles and twins and I am currently flying a PA-32 Lance ..... if this helps
Any info would be very welcome
Regards
Steve

If you want to fly choose another island
No GA on Mauritius. Foreign aircraft there for more than a week I believe have to pay sales tax on the value of the aircraft.
I believe Air Mauritius used to have a few Cessna's for their (mostly South African pilots ... when SAA had the contract to manage them), but no longer.
If you want to fly hop on a plane to South Africa 3.5 - 5.5hrs depending where you are going..
Friends of mine work for Air Mauritius; I go there every so now and then, but not for the flying :-/

(230 7290286) wings aviation.
try phoning on this number, but i dont know if their light amphibian is still operative.
seemed still well-off last time i saw it(last year) docked on some beach in the north.
The instruments were as restrictive as in a piper cub,but was clean inside.
its only a 2-seater.
