You definitely need a car in SA. There are no two ways about it. If you're here for an extended period it is defintely cheaper to buy one, than rent - chances are you won't lose out on the deal either as when you leave you can sell it for what you bought it for...........strange thing the used-car market in SA

You live like the average South African, dont go into bad areas, leave lights on, live behind burglar bars, travel in groups, dont act like a tourist, you can stop me anytime.....?
If you cant figure it out, dont come to SA!
If you cant figure it out, dont come to SA!
Those procedures are the same precautions that we currently follow/take in Latin America.
So I think it will not be a problem at all.

That is very good news. Is it possible to buy a nice (without too many mechanical problems) second hand car for +- 30000 ZAR? Could you suggest a web page link in order to search for a used car in P.E?
