4HolerPoler hanging up his gloves

After around ten years (I think) as a moderator on this forum I'm going to be hanging up my mod hat at the end of the month and will be enjoying life as a regular member.

Thank you for all the support, understanding and fond memories that I can look back on with same level of satisfaction normally reserved for a particularly good bowel movement.

Seriously now - thanks ; beers are always on me and fly safe out there.

Hi 4HP

Its time my man.

When you get down south again, come see us. Our helicopter is now looking a great deal better.

Take care!

Hey 4HP, the title initially gave me shivers, glad you're not stepping out of the front office just yet.

Thanks for all your efforts as mod. I know there have been some very trying times.

Dear 4HolerPoler,

Just a note to thank you for all your excellent moderation in the past. There have been times when I have wondered both at your self restraint and at the degree of latitude which you have afforded some of those posters on Pprune who are apt to be a trifle more verbally rambunctious than would normally be tolerated by less enlightened moderators.
It will be very interesting to read your future posts once you have been freed from the shackles of the dreaded dark and purple tower and can venture forth into the field of intelligent argument so often found within these forums.
Many thanks indeed for all your efforts in the past and may one wish you the best of luck in the cut and thrust of the debating pit which is such a charateristic of this Boswellian jungle!

Best regards.

Thumbs up Thanks for your Efforts

4HP,

Enjoy the life of an ordinary member. Whilst you can't please all of the people all of the time, you have pleased most of the people most of the time with your style of moderation. Thanks for all the time you've put in over the last 10 years.

But, 4HP, what will you do with all that time? Just think, those late nights that you won't be hunched over your computer? Those snatched moments in an Internet café when you read the fine and measured thoughts of a million PPRuNes and know that you have the best job in a the world - you are going to miss that, aren't you?

Besides, you may have to spend more time with your family and friends ...
Wishing you many more soft landings on your keyboard.

4HP thanks for the years of excellent moderation. You have often allowed debate and I know that there have been times when you have had arguements with the other powers that be. I know that you have clipped wings where necessary and support that. Hopefully whoever takes over from you will view the moderator tasks in a similar light. As far as retirement goes, I do know that this is all part of the bigger plan. Enjoy!!
