Question Any jobs in Africa ??

Hi, sorry for this naive posting but....

I'm a Danish guy with all FAA certificates and around 1000TT and not too much multi.

Does anybody have info. on companies, that would be likely to hire a guy with the above credentials, I am willing to relocate to the southpole if thats what it takes.

Would it be possible to get on with an outfit in Africa ?? Or do I have to do the whole JAR-ATPL thing to fly outside the US ??

I'm a little out of touch with what goes on in the GA market in Africa. But I do know that generally an ICAO ATPL is required. There are some outfits operating N registered aircraft here though and so you might stand a chance. If you want some good info, look through the Rossair thread as well as the Maun Old Boys thread here in the Africa forum. Most of those lads are flying in exactly the jobs you're talking about, and would certainly be able to point you in the right direction; even if it is into the jaws of a croc waiting for you at the bottom of the Delta!

Plenty of jobs for you mate, no need for JAR OPS license just a willingness as you described. Have a search through this forum and you can find plenty of good info... and plenty of BS but that is for you to figure out...

Bon Voyage.

Try Rossair Contracts. They have an operation in Scandinavia and Holland. # is +27-11-701-3500. Good luck and keep trying. Insist you're the one they want and offer to get a Kenyan licence and go to Lokichokio. The chief pilot's a good bloke (Fred, not Mike) and understands the voice of reason.

As far as Rossair goes, I know you can't get a job in Europe without a JAR license. The a/c are now flying under European registration(Dutch).
Sorry for the bad news.....
You could check with Rossair South Africa, but I think they are looking for Beech rated people.....
