Avionics tech in Africa

I am making the move from general electronics into avionics repair. One of my long term goals, once certified, is to spend a few years living in Africa, preferrably Tanzania.

Is there any demand for certified avionics people, and would I be paid enough to be able to afford more than a mud hut in the outskirts of Arusha?

Also what is the process in converting an New Zealand certification to one I can use in Africa?
