SA Lear and Tanz 404 crashes

A SA registered Lear was shot down near Ethopia, and a C404 with tourist pax went in yesterday in Tanzania. Anyone got any news about these and what went wrong ??

The C-404 appears to be a combination of CFIT and continued VFR into IMC. Apparently they were VFR on top and ended up buried in the side of a mountain near Kilimanjaro. The mountain was not the big one, a smaller one next to it, I have forgotten the name. Destination was Arusha- no instrument approaches. 1+ 10 on board.

Rafiki, the 404 was operated by Northern Air from Arusha, and the pilot was the company's chief pilot (info from local Tanz news service).
