SA ALTP EXAMINATIONS
NEED SOME HELP.... .. .AM GOING TO SIT THE SA ALTP FLIGHT PLANNING EXAMINATION NEXT WEEK.. .. .THERE IS A SECTION CALLED "FLIGHT PLANS" WHERE ONE IS CALLED UPON TO DO A ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF MATHERMATICS IN ORDER TO CALCULATE THE FUEL REQUIRED FOR A S+L FLIGHT SEGMENT...DOES ANYBODY KNOW ANY APPROPRITE SHORT CUTS FOR QUESTION TYPE ???. .. .ALL HELP / ADVICE GREATLY APPRECIATED. .. .THANKS

Contact Aeronav, they have a rules of thumb section in their flight planning notes. Once you get the hang of it these simple rules will cut your calculations for the cruise sector fuel to a few lines instead of a few pages.

its atpl not altp. .airline (A) tranport (T)not air (A) line (L).. .Attention to detail young man attention to detail.. .otherwise good luck studying ***** you'll never use.

Thanks everybody for the advice and tips much appreciated…got the exam results yesterday and was very pleased with the results (4/4)
On Monday I intend to start studying or the following subjects INSTRUMENTS, RADIO AIDS AND PLOTTING.
Could you guys out there please suggest whitch notes to use ? (I havent purchased notes for these subjects yet- but will be doing so v.soon)
Also anybody who has any useful gen, tips, techniques etc for the above exams I would be very keen to hear from you...esp wrt plotting !!!!!
