Smile Flight Training College SA

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences of FTC SA.I was thinking of using them for some hours building later this year.In fact experiences of any of the South African Flight Schools would be of use.

Cheers. .DWW <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> <img src="cool.gif" border="0">

Question

Yeah Delta Wun Wun

Sorry to hi-jack your thread mate but I tried a similar thread regarding Phoebus Apollo, but no joy, so if anyone out there has any info for old Delta Wun Wun I'd be happy to hear it as well.

Hopefully, DWW, having one reply will get things started <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

One sees a lot of references to Flight Training College of SA. Flight Training College of SA went bust last year! (Or at least the one at Grand Central, Joburg).

The new company is called Flight Training College of Africa.

Phoenix from the ashes.

Caveat emptor!

Flight Training College of Africa, Grand Central Airport, Midrand, Johannesburg.

Sounds like you got sent an old brochure; strange sending out brochures under the name of a defunct company. Perhaps you got it from the UK agent, rather than the company itself, and he is using up old stock?

Perhaps some of the people who lost money with the old company would like to tell their stories? First hand accounts of the sad situation would be better than second hand.

I repeat, caveat emptor!

Cool

<a href="http://www.43airschool.com" target="_blank">www.43airschool.com</a>

Do a search under this forum as there has been a lot of discussion about the various flight schools in SA.

Above one has my vote.. .Good luck. .Dutchie

Yes, FTC of SA was bought about 4 or 5 months ago and is now FTC of A. The current owners include the CFI, Vicky Buxton, a Brit with a ludicrous amount of experience in the aviation industry. I believe she has about 15,000 hours.

The management changeover was a very bumpy ride but things seem to be smoothing out now. There were some people who initially had trouble with their accounts after the takeover, but I believe they are all sorted out now. The new management are honouring all the old contracts.

This is first hand information as I'm at the school now doing hour-building and the ATPL ground school they run in conjunction with AFT.
