Post Engine fire Cape Town?

A friend was travelling between Jo'burg and Cape Town on a SA Airways jet of unknown type aprox three weeks ago.Close to destination passangers were informed that there was an engine fire necessatating an emergency approach and stop.No evacuation was made and no more information followed.Any one know if there was a fire, how far out it occured and details for interests sake.
