Your best bet would be to contact the South African CAA. I don't think that they're in the habit of "swopping" licences though, and you may just find yourself in for a bunch of exams. Check out their website www.caa.co.za it's got loadsa info and telephone numbers. They're also contactable via e-mail. The ladies at Flight Crew Licensing are also most helpfull and will e-mail you back in minutes. You could also talk to ALPA-SA the local pilot union. They're pretty influential in the whole licensing deal in the country and cold give you the full run-down. Their site is www.alpasa.co.za but was offline yesterday. For flight training or exams & study, you'd want to check out Flight Training College of South Africa (FTC) at Grand Central Airport. It's run by Russell Langley, and he's a well respected and knowledgeable guy in the industry. I'd be prepared to stick my head in the firing line and say that he runs the best aviation school in the country. Unfortunately I dont have their contact number anymore, but I'm sure that the CAA or ALPA-SA could give that to you. Finally; you'd want to look into the matter of obtaining residence and work status in South Africa. I do know that as the spouse of a South African citizen, you migh NOT be automatically entitled to live there. There have been numerous cases of people being chucked out because of this problem. I did see an article on News24 the other day saying that those laws were up for review now though, so hope fully it works out for you.
Good Luck!
