SE over water

Guys,

Can someone help my memory.

SE over water out of gliding distance from land under part 135. Legal?

Any good links to the comparative safety of twins vs singles. Oh, yes and I am talking about pistons.

Cheers,

GB

Thanks guys, I'm having trouble convincing a potential operator about this and even the insurance company has been vague. Is there a chapter and verse I can quote? I don't have an AIP with me at the moment.

Cheers,

GB

As far as I know, in a twin if you are further than
50 NM from land there must be lifevests for all pax on
board.
In a piston single I doubt you are allowed, other
then that single piston being ferried.

Basically private flying you can do what the hell you like.
Trying to earn money, and all sorts will come into play
including ETOPS.

Hope that kind of helps.
