VK Minor Incidence in Lagos

I saw a thread some hours ago about an accident involving VK in Lagos. Dotun who i believe works for VK was quick in replying by saying it was "utter nonsense" Well the Nigerian Media is carrying the story now, but i think it was a minor incidence.

"Two passengers were seriously injured when Virgin Nigeria aircraft made a flight return yesterday at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos after the pilot of the airplane which was on its way to Kano enroute Abuja noticed that the aircraft developed hydraulic problem. The incident happened at about 5.00 pm yesterday.
As the pilot taxied back through the runway 18 Right of the international wing of the airport, the passengers saw an on-coming aircraft and panicked and stampede ensued which led to the sustaining of injuries by many of the passengers.
A dependable source who confirmed the incident told THISDAY that the airplane with registration number 5N-VND suffered from collapsed nosewheel.
Another source who spoke to journalists said that the injuries sustained by some of the passemgers were purely out of fear and stampede and in the process of escaping from what they feared was impending mishap.
The injured passengers were rushed to the hospital within the airport by ambulance owned by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria[FAAN].
Among those seriously injured was one Chief Ahmed Onibudo and another man from nothern Nigeria whose name could not be ascertained as the time of filing this report. All efforts made to get the relevant authorities to speak on the matter failed as no one was willing to talk."

What happened to original thread? Who removed it and why?

I did. The thread suggested that there had been an accident, which I verfied was BS. Not close to a rumour. This is a rumour site, not a malicious BS site. That's my opinion. 4HP

So what are the actual circumstances surrounding this incident?

I'm baffled as to how the passengers inside the cabin could spot an incoming aircraft about to land?

Thumbs up Facts?

a/c tookoff 18R, landing gear did not retract. Capt does visual to land. a/c lands safely, taxis off runway. cc report smoke in aft cabin. Evacuation takes place. 2pax slight injuries [ minor abrations " slide burns", sprained ankle].

No repeat NO serious injuries, collapsed gear etc

From ahat I hear, one of the pax [slide burns], even got on a subsequent VK flight to intended destination.
