Security problems at Lagos

Serious security breach at Lagos.

Just seen a thread on Rumours and News re a man arrested ON BOARD last nights BA departure for LHR. Nothing serious, he just had A gun and 50 rounds of ammunition on him!!

The real shock and surprise is that Femi wily Koyote has not rushed into print with his opinions but has asked for time for the investigation to show what happened. Does he know something we don't? Very out of character to be so reticent.

AVSEC where are you when we need your comment Does the comapny you work for carry out security for BA at Lagos?

electronic media reports the pax of a BA flight being stopped by FAAN central search security within the airport terminal, with hand luggage that contained a fire arm and ammunition. Is that the one you mean,or has there been some other event that has passed me by.
From the reports, it is clear the pax never got beyond FAAN/IMMIGRATON central screening section of the airport.

No we are not presently in Nigeria, but provide services within west africa, and hopefully should come into the Nigerian aviation industry with Delta Airlines in december 2007 if they get in,and if we can get your NCAA and internal affairs ministry to license and register us.

Flying Touareg, are you against input from a colleague within the aviation industry, just because she/he does not operate within your own country or country that you operate within?

Well I am quite surprised having read your posts on many African issues, and Nigerian in particular (and not agreed with many of them ) to hear you saying that you do not work there. You always gave the impression of being in the thick of it all, struggling to do a good job amidst a tidal wave of corrruption and inefficiencies.

So did you ever work in Nigeria?

Surely not,we provide services within West Africa.I have audited airline operations in Nigeria in the past.I do infrequently transit via Nigeria on my business travels.
And you guys?Where do you operate at the moment, and in what capacity please?
