Well I wouldn't call Rossair an airline, when it was still going. 700 hrs? I think chances are not good, most guys/galls get into AIRLINE with atleast 2000 hrs and there are lots of SA citizens with +5000 hrs and ATP waiting for a airline job.

Why SA, what about Europe/Asia ? If you really like the place, (have you been here?) you might find a contact/charter job.

UrlocalAzn, with those sort of hours the best you could probably hope for if you took the trouble to come all the way out here is a charter job or something in contracts. There are a lot of Aussies and Kiwis flying in places like Botswana and Tanzania doing charters on anything ranging from 206's to piston twins and Caravans. There is bigger stuff around but you could expect to spend time on the smaller things first. Most companies have a fairly entrenched seniority system with regard to progression on types. In most places here the airlines seem to have all the local guys and foreigners are largely relegated to the lower tiers, that is in countries where it's possible to get work permits in the first place. Good luck.
