Re: The Huey in Capetown (including Huey down)

I personally would not ride in it again
All your other diatribe sort of goes out the window after this statement...
And your telling others here to Grow Up??

The Huey is a beautiful machine airworthy or not.
Ok, lets just say its not...........If that makes you feel safer, you have my seat....

I am certain every heli operation on the waterfront has some skeletons in their closests
Hmmm. I dont think we are talking Skeletons as much as we are a Mass Grave......

Interesting comments for a newbie....... NotSoClueless......Me thinks Clueless.........

hmmm That sounds a bit scary so what you trying to tell me is to wait and see what will happen. That just make my blood boil. Really notsoclueless you are going on like a damm child. The pax have got no clue they just there to enjoy the trip and here we got people like you that know there is something wrong and don't say nothing. You make me sick to the stomach

Re: The Huey in Capetown (including Huey down)

I have had some involvement with the Huey but refuse to name when or why and what role I played.
I personally would not ride in it again

my advice it to act mature and forget about it. and if one day god forbid someone gets hurt then u can sit and be all smug and say "i told you so"i but in the mean time grow up please.
I will make a printed copy of that post....file it away....I am sure it would be an interesting tidbit of information should something ugly happen. Since you put it into a public forum....I assume you have no objection to my doing that now do you?

Hey guyz, how the hell is everybody? Yeah even you Bert! A safe and prosperous new year to all!

I think we're all forgetting something here..... although a public forum, this IS a RUMOUR network. If youre not taking all this as tounge in cheek, youre missing the point.

Comments from the Pprune were presented in court the other day in a court case involving Helibase and N90057!

I ask you with tears in my eyes.....

Re: The Huey in Capetown (including Huey down)

b Sousa the only thing u offer is some mildly amusing put downs so uh keep up the good work ?????

cornell u misunderstood me.i DO NOT want anything to happen to the huey or its pax.while i am praying something will not happen it seems u all cant wait until something does.what my point was if u all believe so strongly that the huey has "second hand parts" and is unworthy to fly then do something about it.get off your a s.Or is it just easier to complain and slag off? now what i need to understand is if mr van is paying everyone off (supposedly)that is a hell of a lot of people and while he might have enough money to do so dont u think he would be paying to keep the huey in the air and not be making any profits?not a wise business move.so me thinks NOT.

SASless file it print it blow it up stick it everywhere in fact put it under your pillow to keep it safe.I really dont care.Whatever makes u happy..........

unworthy to fly then do something about it.get off your a s.
Excellent Point.........But WE here are not the ones who should HAVE to get off our whatevers. It should be done by the CAA. Thats what makes Helibase one Lucky Mother....There virtually IS NO CAA.
As far as most have seen here, they couldnt properly pour piss out of a boot. And DO NOT misconstrue that as a clean bill of health for the Huey operation.

I certainly wonder what Mr G thinks of all these ramblings and do wish that he would wiggle his fingers up the backside of SOMEONE at Helibase running on more than an 80 I.Q. Then, at least, the his messages would be a bit more coherant..........

I must edit and mention my flaming towards the CAA is not directed at the many dedicated employees, but to the folks in those lofty places that allow this to continue..........Nuff Said.

Little MO.....
More newbies on line, wonder where the interest lies.........
Anyway that old news. Consider there is another thread on this topic which was closed by someone overloading themselves on the keyboard. Go to the Archives and ask it about "The Huey in Capetown" It really should be combined with this as its all one big mess.......I mean topic.
What you you 4HP, can it be brought back from the dead with some of your fine editing??

I'd gladly merge them Bert but the Search function is dead - if someone has the original thread's url then PM it to me & I'll merge the two threads. 4HP

4HP .. your request is my demand
The oldest living thread I could get was this one :
New Huey's at helibase from KENNEL KEEPER
Then we had this wonderful thread closed by Jettie
Huey back in the News from Dean Wingrin
I hope this helps gents but a good idea to merge all the relevant threads in the Huey !
Cheers,
Gunsss

Re: The Huey in Capetown (including Huey down)

Bert,

I notice the thing being referenced is a civilian model...not a Restricted Catagory....thus parts would be much easier to track and much...much...much...more expensive if geniune Bell Helicopter factory certified parts vice cheapy surplus boneyard parts of questionable pedigreed.

Re: The Huey in Capetown (including Huey down)

All thats been asked and answered. Its a Military Huey that went to Eithiopia from Govt to Govt. Then purchased and brought to SA WITHOUT any historical documents. CAA bought off on it originally, then things hit the revolving blades with shade tree mechanics etc........
Other one is SWFA and another story......

Re: The Huey in Capetown (including Huey down)

Anybody know why Executive Helicopters moved in with Supervan? Will they be doing the maintenance on the Hueys now that the Jackal has gone??

Looks like ZS-REU(L1) is doing charters from there. They are probably driving the people there via the "schoolbus"

Re: The Huey in Capetown (including Huey down)

Big article in todays Cape Argus on the whole Huey Saga....

Seems like the CAA is now instructing the SAPS to enforce some action.

Anybody got the full article?
