I believe Qwila-Air is looking for experienced 1900D drivers for Pakistan, can anybody shed any light on the rumour and what they are like to work for?

Well I can bet that they are about 100x better then
Executive Turbine! Chances are that they also have a
maintenance section that out does ET hands down.
Funnily enough ET started out as a AMO.
What a joke considering the maintenance issues they have had lately!
Bruce is a great guy to work for, and I can bet my house
that whatever he puts his mind to, he does ie: Pakistan will be
a success.
If you are based in Islamabad you are gonna love it.
The locals that will look after your house and you
will really spoil you. Yes Boss!!!
We had a base manager there called Qaddafi. Top chap!
Will try and get his no and post it so that you can contact
him and maybe he can be your base manager.
Whatever you need this guy will organise. Think he is working for
the Kenyan Dash 8 crew based in Islamabad now, but understand that
he loves us South Africans and will move in a heart beat.
That about wraps it up....

I'm looking into flying B1900s in South Africa. What kind of hours are B1900 operators looking for? and are these contract jobs? Do you need a B1900 type rating to get the job?
Also, can a pilot of any nationality work in South Africa? I'm not from Africa and have I FAA license and thinking of moving to South Africa.
I would really appreciate any info. Thanks!

Sorry to sound so negative bru.....
but guess what....
south africans cant even get work in SA at the mo...
what that means is that you can get a validation if you want to
but then that does not qualify you to work in SA.
QUITE WRIGHT AND PROPER TOO SON!
What that means is , is that if you are lucky enough and rated enough
you may get a job in deep dark west africa
but we all gotta get blooded somewhere my son!!!

Easy there fella, the guy was asking a simple question.
In response to you dyermaker, there is such a shortage of 1900 and 200 drivers at the moment that yes, if you are rated and you have a few hours on type i'm almost 100% sure that you will get a call and offered a position.
I'm all for our boys getting the nod ahead of the foreign competition but it seems that there are just no guys floating around at the moment that seem to have the necessary experience that is required on most of the contracts. This sentiment is shared with a lot of the guys i've spoken to as well in the field as well as back home....
At this point i don't even think i have a replacement for when my tour ends in a few weeks time
So as long as we can't fill positions with our local lads i'm sure it's open season for anyone who has ratings and experience from the outside and want to enjoy Africa in all it's wondrous beauty
My 2 cents worth anyways, safe flying
