UN Aircraft Crash Lands Near Kigoma; Crew Safe
UN security personnel in Kalemie have just reported that a United Nations cargo aircraft has crash-landed while attempting to land at the airport in Kigoma, Tanzania. UN flight 0822, a C-130 cargo aircraft, was enroute from Kamina by way of Manona when it crashed about 1500 hours Kigoma time. No passengers were aboard the aircraft at the time. One person was reported to have been seriously injured, but the total number of injured is not currently known. A PAE firefighting team was dispatched from Kalemie to assist.
