Thumbs up Sefofane Info???

Can anyone please give me a heads up, on the Sefofane operation, been going through thier website, and they look like a good professional outfit.
Please let me know if this is so, and what are they like to work for, and what are the chances of getting in on a C206 or C210.
Thanx All

Hi DW!!

Is that the Sefofane in BW ya talking about? I think they're based in Maun. Haven't flown for them but rather for Air Bots. There were some of our crew( who served Sefofane before ) flying the ATR with us who wanted to leave the ATR to go back flying the bush, saying the money was better there. check it out.

Their setup looked well organised, at least from the outside.

No luck with Air Mauritius???

Sefofane

Hey DW

I recently gave some training to a higher up at sefofane, he gave me the run down on the opoeration and it sounds very enticing for the adventurous at heart. Starting out you fly the 206/210 fleet and before long you move up to the Van. Possibly even king air or Pilatus time depending on how long you stay. The money wasnt so bad for african standards and if you are a low timer seeking experience it seems this would be a good place to start.

hope this helps

Maun

I'm headed to Maun tomorrow to search for work (Sefofane as first choice). Canadian CPL, 850tt, multi-ifr, 206, 182, 180F, Be-76 time and experience on grass and gravel in the mountains in Canada.

One of their pilots did an IFR renewal at my flight school and sparked my trip. Sounds like a good deal. 1 year on the 206 then upgrade to the Van. Said Maun was a fairly boring place but there was a good community amongst the pilots and the flying was great.

The hiring process involves a written exam, an interview and a flight (I recall it being just one circuit in the 206).

Typical hiring season is Jan/Feb so I'm going off season but I've heard stories of positions being open about this time.

There are lots of other charter companies in Muan: Moremi, Northern, Mack, Delta, Safari, etc. that have fairly similar fleets.

Hi Guys

There are a couple of good companies in Maun: Sefofane, Moremi Air, Safari Air, Mack Air, Northern Air, Kavango Air and Delta Air. If you have the right attitude and you can make friends with a 206 chances are good. The pay sux, but the flying and lifestyle is great...how I miss those days.

Good luck if you're yeading there, take some camping gear.

Cheers
