R I P Bob McIntyre
Sadly today we attended the funeral of R C (Bob) Mc Intyre.
One of the last of but few remaining round engine specialists and flight engineers from DC3s to Connies. A difficult man to work with but a good story teller of the good times of round engine flying.
From all those who knew him and flew with him across Africa we wish him a safe final journey with no oil leaks or cranky round engine problems!!
A tribute to a dying breed of men who made aviation what it is today, with the full knowledge that they will never be replaced.

Had the good fortune of flying with a very interesting gentleman, apart from good stories, a good "cook", and great sense of humour. He will be missed.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I’ m in the memory of the time we shared,
I’ m in the hearts of those who cared,
I’ m in that morning walk,
I’ m there when airmen laugh and talk.
My space is free, it’s wide, it’s vast.
Your time is now, mine’s in the past.
It was shared with friends who made my life
On earth a joy, amidst the strife.
This chapter’s over, but there’s more to do,
And many blank pages to be filled by you.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there,
I did not die.
Rest peacefully Bob

I am saddened to hear of Bob's passing though we didnt allways see eye to eye and I even fired him once. But he was one of "us" and a dependable sort. Sad that many of his former work mates were not aware of his death until I informed them today.
Gone but not forgotten.
