Question SA PPL in Europe

Hey folks

I just wondering if there are people staying in Europe or the States and holding a SA licence?! How do you get it renewed without going back home.

Every reply is very wellcome! Thanks a lot.

Regards,
swissmen

If you check out Avcom.co.za, a gentleman by name of Irv Lee, based in the UK, should be able to assist you.

Have a good 'un!

If your in the states, you can fly ZS registered aircraft with it or get it validated.
Easier to get an FAA PPL based on your PPL.....
go to www.faa.gov and look it up in the regs.

The trouble with that is: if it's an FAA Certificate issued as an admin process "on the basis of..." a SA PPL, then the underlying licence, in this case the SA PPL, has to be renewed if it expires. If however, it's a full FAA certificate issued by starting with your SA PPL and going through a different process involving flying, tests, etc, then the FAA Certificate is a proper 'stand alone' licence separate from the SA PPL.
