Nice one!
Ajax 28, now forward your copy to OC 21 SQN too!
Ja, how many does 21Sqn have already? You see, BBJ ratings are worth something these days.
The SAAF motto always was: " ....and see the world!" Africa is now also included these days.....
Nag ou grote!

The most amazing thing about pprune is that most people are very quick to jump to conclusions and come up with all sorts of wonderfull theories.. (no names mentioned here mystic flyer...) I was at the pointer sqn but have moved on and there are no other motives behind by my statements.
As has already been said... we all know that the SAAF is changing.. and most know in what direction it is heading.. but it does not mean that all the guys left in the SAAF are not up to standard...
Lets leave all the mud slinging to the politicians and let us pilots do what we do best.... fly aircraft, have good parties and not try to take on each other...

Great for you Ajax 28 that you moved on...and this within the second oldest airforce worldwide!
The point here is that we (military and civilian) aviation can not tolerate a lowering of standards.
If you worked hard hard for receiving your wings, I congratulate you, if it was earned appropriately. You see, this area of doubt already created....it blows over to civilian aviation as well as the whole reputation of SA Aviation.
Any guy out there holding a SA licence, will thus be affected by this area of speculation, believe me, it works that way, just like a matric or universaty degree obtained in SA is worth less and less in the REAL world.
Now not that I doubt that you may not be there for the long run, but should you wish to venture in to the civilian market....or maybe the great blue yonder, would you not like the playing field to be fair, or what is happening is....the date off issue is firstly scrutinised. This is just serving to widen the devide and adding fuel to the - them and us - fire.
Now this is certainly not something we should shove underneath the carpet.....it affects us all. You may not realise it in the SAAF, hey things are always on the up for you, but for how long?
Good luck feeling really great walking in your uniform, answering questions about your job, explaining that the SAAF can't even train ab-initio, and subsequently had to outsource to a neighbouring country - Zimbabwe????
But then again, SAA had the same problem...racism here, that there, the rumours go, and it will just take time before someone comes with proof that senior guys are asked to leave.
Point is you can loose everything, but your country's reputation....and that's real-life politics...once it affects your earning potential....ask anyone who lives overseas too!
Who is then jumping to quick conclusions...one needn't have Mystical powers to figure that one out.
Great day gents, and a fab weekend.
