Angel Today ... 4 years ago ..

It was like yesterday. I still remember EVERY moment of it. Still dream about it ... still have nightmares.

Could I .. ?

Should I ... ?

Was it correct .. ?

Did I do it ..can not remember ... ?

Only those that has been in a serious accident will know. It is not easy. We all walked (sorry ran) as she was on fire and fully armed .. .....

except Major Vanessa Lang (British Military) RIP Vanessa

Due to the fact that I can not ( land of sand rules ) please lift a glass to her tonight and make my day.

Cheers and God Bless you. (fly safe out there)

4 years can also be a long time ..

Hey Gunsss you know it and I know it...you were doing the best you could at the time.

If it had been anyone else you would be saying .....live with it, learn from it and carry on!!!!!!!

I would rather fly with you after that than before, because you will be thinking about things a lot more.

Sterkte Boet!!!!!!!!!!

Angel

They shall grow not old
As we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemm
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning -
we will remember them

Hey Guns,

He that outlives these days and comes safe home will stand a tip toe when these days are named,......He that sees old age will strip his sleave and show his scars,....This storey shall the good man teach his son....And gentlemen who were then abed shall think themselves accurst that they were not there, and hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speak that talk with us.

Hey Gunnss as you told the story to me, I think you must keep sight of the fact that there are all the others involved who owe their lives to your skill.
I also know how much losing Vanessa Lang meant to you, but I think she would be honoured to have someone as big hearted as you take the time to remember her 4 yrs after the tragedy.
Take care big man.

Lightbulb

Hey cheers guys.

Ja must admit I really took it bad this year - maybe just alone and without the comfort of a beer.

She was a great girl and strangely we all had a fantastic dinner together the previous night.

The poor Ozzie hitched a ride from me that night.

He thought he would spare his arse a 6 hour journey by Land Rover to FNA

He mailed me on the day as well and we are great mates.

The co-pilot is now the "Officer Commanding of the SL Airforce".

Sadly he has no more pilots (except 5 PPL's) and he was 15 - 30 minutes from being send solo in the ALO - then the clutch slipped and they did not want to pay.

Sad day - where I parked her - she and the others still stand today

Ohh unless Nellis moved them of course in the mean time

Hey Guns,
Don't forget what Vanessa's boss said:

"I would like to pay particular tribute to the pilot of the aircraft who by his skill has managed to save five lives."

Go Well Mate.
