Terror Lekota in DRC incident

Anyone hear of an incident somewhere in the DRC today involving an aircraft carrying "Terror" Lekota?

Was it a government aircraft or a privately-chartered one?

Any news on damage?

Aircraft took out a fence taxiing out for take-off from Goma. Blerry journalists called it an accident on take off.

Anything to whip up some interest in a mediocre story, eh boys?

There's a pretty tight parking area on the Eastern side of the runway, bounded by a fence. I reckon he clipped a bit of it as he taxied out. The normal parking in front of the terminal is no longer accessible after the lava flow across the runway.

Just guessing on the location of the actual bit he hit.

As for the PBs strolling across the runway in a leisurely fashion with 70 tons of certain death heading for them at .2 Mach, no change....

Hope it's not competition for a certain Ju-52 (with P&W's) driver....

i remember landing there before the volcanoe did its bit, and when the nyra(spelling) hotel was still in use, and having the locals walk across the runway as we were landing.

infact, on one occasion, the buggers were even throwing stones at the plane as we were touching down!

South coast

The only change is that the runway is now a bit shorter.

At least the Goma cheese is still available. Good smelly slice of cheese on ones morning toast always goes down well.
