I have to say that I tend to agree that this guy should not have been reading porn in a public place. I would feel uncomfortable doing it, even though I have no issues with 'reasonable' porn.
Having said that, I have noticed (and witnessed) the action of cabin crew. In recent years I've seen ratty cabin staff work a situation up and increase the confrontational aspect - where a simple few polite but firm words would have sufficed.
They just know that the passenger cannot respond in a 'normal' way without the possibility of being offloaded or banned. (Alcohol and mild hypoxia symptoms also play a part here.)
Put a low qualified spotty kid in a uniform with responsibility and pressure and elevate him/her to 33000 feet and there's bound to be a power trip!
Best to just say nothing and take it up later.

Whats Porn to some is just Trash to others, or maybe if your a Psychiatrist dealing in Sexual Issues its "research material"
Interesting as its a big contoversy all over the world. Maybe not appreciated while at the Basillica in Rome, but common place on the streets of Amsterdam.
I still use the judgment that if I dont like it, I just dont look.....lets me make my own decisions......
The world is ever changing, and remember now in the states Its against the rules to bring ANY Cigarette lighters on board or in your luggage on any Aircraft.

Loslyf and such filth is a clear indication of the state of someones mind.
Speak to a professional medical person and they will tell you that porn is more adictive than some main stream drugs.
I for one would not be comfortable sitting next to a junky whilst he snorted acid, so throw Loslyf and his kin in the bin.

Spose the fact that condoms are available at the airport means that they can be used in the next two hrs on a flight at the discretion of a passenger in public. Does the ticket make reference to everything that could be offensive to ordinary folks.

Apples and Oranges Boys and Girls. Some things have already been defined by Society to not be acceptable in Public. I dont particularly like to sit next to some fat sweathog picking his/her nose, however that has not yet been deemed offensive enough for the cabin crew to throw them off the plane.
Point of my postings is not that this idiot did the right thing or anything to discredit the crew. Its the ability to mind my own business and not have some knothead determining what is good for me.....
What are ordinary folks for some, may not be for others.....

An aeroplane is a very easy place to attract attention. Especially if you're looking for it,as in this case.
When i was younger and on a flight to somewhere packed in the sardine can, all I had to do was pull out a cricket magazine and wait 2 seconds before the guy next to me would ask "so do you play cricket?" and there I got the attention i was looking for. This guy is just simply looking for attention by causing chaos when he doesn't have to. Its the same as the idiot that tackled the referee during the Tri Nations game at Kings Park a few years ago.
He is obviously on such an action drought that he has no better option than to open a porn mag on a two hour flight. If i look hard enough in my desk drawer i might have some spare attention for him. Anyone got his number so i can give it to him??
And before i forget, well done to the photographer of the picture. You might just find a free subscription to 'loslyf' in your postbox sometime soon!!
