Lightbulb STA Mali BKO need more infos

Hi folks,

I would like to know more about this company. Is there anybody works for them. I talked to the Boss, but this guy looks like very strange (almost mafioso, bandit and mysterious)...

Cheers

Hi man !!
here is the situation at this time; the company is completly **** up, 80% of the employes are not paid since 3months,the airplanes are in very bad conditions included the Let410(these are really ******!!) they lost 8 pilots in less than 2months, same for the flight attendants all due to the boss, his name is mister Sabbague, a libaneese guy borned in Mali, he has absolutly no respect for the people over there and doesn't give a **** about regulation, security and all that, well if you want to work for free and be treated like a slave this is the place to go, if not AVOID this company... believe me !!!!!

if you have more question let me know on PM

take care buddy

Baker man

Hi Kerapilot.

Working for Sabbague is not all doom and gloom as our friend Learr puts it.(well nearly).

Sabbague is a law unto himself, commonly known as the Baker man.

Yes,I have heard that guys salaries are 3 months outstanding and the conditions suck.(I worked in Bamako for 6 months, for someone else,so do know the man personally).

But on the up-side,where else are you going to do 200 hours (yes 200),a month in a turbine.

If you have some spare cash and are just wanting the hours on a turbine,(the cash being that you are probably not going to get paid),then go for it.

Bamako is a trully brilliant place to fly out of and live in.

But you will definitely work, work, work, work and more work.

Making some hours is something, working against the law flying some xxxx around is something else specially when you know that everytime that you put your ass in the cockpit it might be the last ... well my friend that your choice, like i said if you want to play the "hero" then go for it...

Learr is right man, do not go to work for this xxxxxx, if you want to live long..i was with learr in BKO from Oct 2003 to March 2004, on th Let sector. and believe me man, i was really scared to fly on thehs planes at the end. No respect for potentials, hours, payload etc. We were taking off every morning with an overload up to 700/800 kgs, and on a plane of 6400 kgs, it is a lot!!!
I lived 10 year in Mali when i was young, with my parents, and sabbague was already there, doing xxxx. I know a lot of pilots who worked for him, and, believe me, a very few of them will say that he is a good guy...
When i left in March, the logbooks didn't have any hours entry since December...I have some proof... Even the Tcech rep. technician didn'want to sign the papers of the plane!!

If you have more questions, i sent you my mail and phone in YMQ by PM
Take care

P.s. Hey Fab (Learr), were a re you now man!? Still on DC9? Take care and send me some news when you have time.

See you!
Bert

Learr and LET's FLY,

Are OM, LL and FW still in the pit ? Without these three people MS would not be where he is...

Hi Concordino!
OM and LL are still there and probably will be there until the last breath of the company... Sabbague got them a nice present for christmas; the left seat on the DC-9 for the rest all LET pilots left 2 months ago leaving behind 2 months salary, on the DC-9 sector same thing the venezuelian guys are about to leave also, at this time OM and LL are flying both LET and DC-9 because there is no pilots anymore to fly for Sabbague, PB is still there doing his duty as always ...well as you can see all this doesn't sound so good, i thing the company will be close very soon... and to be hornest this is the best thing can happened for both;pilots and passengers!!!

How about the Two local Malian pilots who gave a helping hand on the Let410 yet were Jet-rated and supposed to go on the DC9 ?

Cheers

Well, the only African pilot i knew on the LET sector was from Togo (Lome) with a canadian licence he left also 2months ago, none of them except OM and LL jumped to the DC-9... not really surprising...

Hi guys.....

Does anybody know if STA hire non-French speaking pilots??

By the way, on their website they say that they are currently recruiting.... what are the minimuns?? Any ideas?

Do they hire pilots to go directly to the jet fleet???

Best regards,

Well, Mr. Bean is now flying for... Solenta! He was hired as direct-entry captain on the ATR42 but he could not get his JAA ATP in time so he is flying as f/o for now till he gets his upgrade...

Quite amazing actually...

LEARRRRRRRRRRR, yes, I´ve read everything about STA that you and your mates have posted here on PPRUNE ! However, I´m really interested in building some time quickly (you mentioned that in STA pilots fly up to 200 hours/month, huh?)....

So.... non-French speaking guy has real chances at STA???????? What are their minimum requirements?

Any help is appreaciated.

If somebody mentionned that the pilots in STA fly about 200h a month it wasn't me and it seems to me a little beat exagerated (by the way if you follow the regulation, you can't do that!!!)
I am not working for them anymore but when i left they were flying about +/- 50h a month on the LET410, now if you speak english as it seems to be i don't see any problems, forget the jet if you don't have the type rating and the minimum requirements ?? well i heard that they hired a man with less than 40h (no licence!!) but when the captain realised that he refused to fly with him, lol, anyway that's your choice man, i will be happy to tell you more on PM about that "company"
