i heard on sunday that a SA company based in Accra is basically going to bail out SNA.

"Gold Coast Airline" will fly with a 767 Accra - FT - Banjul - London twice a week.

they will take over management and also offset their debts !

a BIG good luck to them.

i really hope they know what they are getting into.

i also heard that monarch will fly ober here over the Xmass season getting a slice of the cake.

ex - sna boss envolved ....

I'd be keen to obtain any further information on this operation - in particular contact details. If anyone could help I would be most grateful if they post here or PM me as they wish.

Thanks in advance

Apparently a Mr Fred Brons and Ms Denise Bottger of Fair Aviation based in South Afica and Charles Reindorf, Managing Director of Gold Coast Travel and Tours of Ghana has a meeting with President Kabbah on 25th Oct about a joint venture with SNA.

Not an airline person amongst them, anyone know who these characters are?

SRT ... Uhmmm broer what is the "epitome of a charter queen" in common Queen's language ?

Sounds lekker fun

On a more serious note :

SNA applied for the following slots from LGW :

Fridays 19 Nov-10 Dec using a B757 positioning from BRU (this could be the Air Slovakia aircraft again)

Mondays 13 Dec onwards a B767 operating FNA/LGW/FNA (Operator unknown)

Fridays 17 Dec onwards a B767 operating FNA/LGW/FNA (Operator unknown)

Seeing that 19 November is 2 weeks away - I have not heard tour operators selling tickets for them ?

i heard via an inlaw at caa / sna that sna is not happy about "the white man from south africa"

apparently Gold coast's negotiations with SNA are not going well. Their idea is that Gold Coast takes over SNA completely (they probably don't know about all the debts), but the Sierra Leone Government want to retain control and influence.

at this stage they are not accepting his offers

we can only assume that gold coast / white man from sa will ask someone else to operate for them as (a) they can't find an aircraft to do the Mon/Fri operation or (b) the negotiations with SNA are going nowhere and they need another option

Word on the street is that UK airline Britannia (BY) will start charter operations 0n 30Nov with a B767 routing LGW/FNA/ACC/LGW, departing LGW on Tuesday nights at 2255, leaving 0625 Wednesdays ex FNA . Obviously SNA have got a slice of the action because they have written to their travel agents announcing they are resuming operations and giving out the BY timings but adding their own flight designators!

All well and good then?. No not really actually. The man organising all this needs to have a tour operator with the correct UK licence and I am told his chosen partners are having some very serious doubts about the whole enterprise.

Still, there is 18 days to go yet before this is due to start so I am sure all will be sorted out!

Lo Montana,

By "accident" I am reading their full page advert right now :

"Effective 30 Nov until further notice "... (fire the guy immediately that wrote the advert as I do not think pax will enjoy that !

They advertise a B767-200ER aircraft.

Flight numbers are LJ designators...

"We offer a smile for every mile .. serving the nation "Faithfully at all times" ... PS : I did not put those words in "" - it was like that !

Their prices are VERY Low plus they give you a 40 kg allowance.

Hope their operators know what these guys are selling behind their backs

Cheers

SNA

Hello,

Does anyone have any details on the latest developments in the "Gold Coast Aviation" / SNA Saga?

Someone posted here a while ago the likelihood of an ACC-FT-BJL-LONDON flight with the 767. Could this be wet-leased or operated by Bellview Airlines of Nigeria, which is shortly to deliver 2 767-200ERS?

Thanks,
