Transfering JAA licence to Kenya...specifically the medical

Hey guys,
I've run a search for this but it didn't bring up anything useful. I am currently working towards my fATPL and was wondering how the conversion procdure works in kenya?

I lived in kenya for 10 years and so am eager to return there for a couple of years to do some bush flying out of Wilson. My main concern is the medical, will the Kenyan CAA accept a JAA class 1 medical? or will I have to sit a new one? I am slightly colourblind and had quite a bit of trouble getting my JAA medical.

Thanks for any info.

I did a few class 1 medicals in Nairobi from 1994-1998, both FAA and Kenyan with old Doc Robertson, but I don't recall having to do an involved eye test then.
Best of luck!

Cool

Is Doc Robby still around? I heard he had passed away.

Ah Doc Robertson...............
Back in the 70's , while inspecting the back of your eye cavity , would casually ask if you saw many rafikis in the Bumdusters/Aero Club etc etc ( delete as necessary ). We eventually worked out that he would sometimes stop on the way home to Langata and walk through one of the doorways into the DBusters and straight out the other , casually noting who he could see at the bar , and if he saw the same face a few times would start the 6 monthly interrogation !!
We finally 'got' him by spotting him getting out of his car , and locking the 2nd door , so stranding him dead-centre in the pub ,hoots of laughter etc....... Good man though , saw the funny side of it all ,and stood us all a round or two !! Happy days.......
