Parents pay for your job

It seems that everywhere you look now-days,the co-pilots are "Cadets",whose parents are paying for them to get 50 to a 1000 turbine hours.

Most companies are loving it as they are getting paid to have a co-pilot working for them.

The only problem is the poor guys that are working their butt's off to fly and dont have rich parents are really battling.

Reminds me of certain companies making their pilots pay for their recurrency training.

them I say.

I know how off you feel. My best mate from school was recently recommended for a command with a UK based charter airline flying 757s. He's 26 like me and has +/- 4000 hours. Nothing against him as he loves what he's doing and he's great at what he does. Needless to say however that he didn't pay for his CPL by doing a paper round

I'm sure that my IR will be a piece of cake compared to finding the funds to go and do it.
