happy memories

Having spent some time with the guys and gals in Cameroun I echo Soggy's comments. It was a rugged adventure in the earlier days but when you are working in Africa you learn to take the rough with the smooth. As to the management - well I've seen a lot worse and as things go I believe they were trying ther best in tricky circumstances. On balance I have more happy memories than unhappy ones and if I get the chance I would gladly work for the same people again.

As to the CHC situation - well let's wait and see.

Happy to hear that things are actually going rather well. Only one thing nobody has talked about, and it was always a taboo subject (maybe because it was the worst I encountered when working in Africa). What about the transport? Did it ever get any better?

Ahhh, the Transport.

Vast amounts of foamy liquids have disappeared mulling over that very subject... again, professional matters are best discussed over a drink.

In short- No.

I never thought of the transport as a professional matter! Talking of its being best discussed over a drink, I remember it being enough to drive me to drink
I suppose this means that lots of 33 and Castell are still being sunk or drunk while people despair of ever getting some proper arrangement for transport. Still, I'm sure the managers are very happy that the taxis in Douala are extremely safe. It must be better than having to drive yourself in a Nissan Patrol, non?
However its still a nice place to be. Wish you all well
