Talking Looking For 2 Pilots In Tanzania

Guys,

If you are or know good solid C206 rated, and experienced drivers loose down your way, pls ask them to get in touch with us soonest.

We are looking to position 2 pilots in our camps in Tanzania:

1 – Katavi / Mahale

1 – Sand Rivers Selous.

( possibility of being in Serengeti area in season as well)

They would be more or less permanently out in the bush – so we really need self-reliant types who could double up as Guides/mechanics/masseurs.

(and yes, girls welcome to apply)

The advantage for them would be zero living costs – and the run of the best wilderness areas left in Tanzania.

Hours:

1000 Min TT

(100 on C206 for insurance reasons)

Just so you know, we just bought a Caravan – which will come on line in Dec 2003. So the jockeys might get a go on the C208 as well if they behave….

PLEASE please can you put the word out amongst the flying fraternity down your way. We need to get moving on at least 1 of these Pilots urgently - and the other by December time.
_________________________

I have been flying for them for a month on a C206, just free-lancing as I am leaving East Africa in a few weeks. I have know them quite well for about 8 years. Good people to fly for, good hours, salary is very decent and the extras for overnights and extra hours is higher than most around here in Tanzania. I choose the Sand Rivers/Selous job and it was really great. Spent an average of 10 nights in Dar or Zanzibar in the month.
The job is better suited for someone who's single, as most of the time will be spent in the bush, it is not easy to have a wife, or husband, in Arusha or Dar.

don't hesitate to pm me for info, and send your resumes and CVs to [email protected]

Good luck

Mate I know a few guys that could do the job...no worries. But they dont have 1000 hours.

You will have a hard time getting dudes with that time to take a job like that.

I fly in Tanz myself. Be back in a week. I will see if I can bring back someone for you. I know some that have solid backgrounds and could help you out. At least you know they will stick around for a while. If you take on someone with 1000+ on a single....they will leave as soon as a twin slot comes up...which is not far away.

cheers mate

hey mate,

how you doing, missed you by about a week when you were in the USA last....nice to hear you're still in the land of the living ( caught a glimpse of the photo's you emailed to Peter.!!)

Anyway mate on the subject of jobs, I don't suppose there is any leeway on the hours requirement for two instructors at good old NAC..??

Let me know huh, talk to you soon, all the best,

Paul S....

Hi,

I'm interested but I don't qualify for C206's but might for the Caravan.

I am PPL, IMC, Night with 350+ hours on singlengine types.

I'm retired (60 years old) and dying to do something intersting - seriously.

PM me? Probably an impossible dream but who knows?

Cheers

Helldog, I guess we are going to meet at one point.
I understand your comments regarding the 1000 TT, but one if not both, of those guys will be flying the Van and the insurances for the Van require 1000-1500 TT, depending on the companies. At Air Excel it was 1500TT.
Same story for the 100 hours on C206. Insurance requirement. If you have guys please send them, in the end, you know how it is, Roland will probably take them with less than 1000 but enough bush and 206 experience. As for sticking around for a while, this is a good criteria but for us it is not a must be, as we also have 2 or 3 guys who are keen to come back for seasons job.

Cpatmav,
I'm coming back. Have you done your MEI? I will need to build up multi-time. I will come see you guys when I arrive. From what I can see, I'll be down in Nipples for quite a while. Owe a dinner to the Irish man anyway. You saw the pictures, gosh , I tell you mate, it goes very fast, but it is a bit of a cold shower after it happens. For a little while, at least

Hey mate,

Yep got the MEI...have you done your multi, or do you just want to build time..??

If you just want to build time then I might be willing and able to split the cost with you, depending on how many hrs you 're thinking of...

Also, on the subject of 206 time...if myself and another had a few hrs short of 1000 but had 100hrs 206 what would our chances be of blagging a job..??

anyway's see you soon mate,
Paul..

I know a couple of people who answered your call.

Do you reply to the hopefuls, or is it pie in the sky??

Captmav,
Yes mate, it is good if you guys have the 100 C206 and short of a 1000. Are you ready for the big jump?
I did my ME with Anthony, I need to build up time, so let's talk when I arrive next week. PR told me you guys are keen to come looking for something here and around, no problem to discuss and study all that. Is the Seminole back on line?

Doubleu-anker, until this morning, the company had received 83 CVs, so I guess they're studying it all before replying.

For your information, these jobs are still on, I saw Roland today, he's very pleased with the amount of replies he got from you guys on Pprune. He is flying a lot and didn't have time to go through it all, although he said he was amazed by the experience of most of you. He will be checking it properly in the coming 2 weeks and will start to send replies.

Now, I am off to Uncle Sam's, So long Africa and see yah soon,
