Latest update from CAAC seems to have some difficulty outlining the supposed cause of this accident.

The release highlighted that a technical investigation team has carried out a great deal of work on the case including onsite inspection, personnel interviews and experimental analysis, but since the case is "very complicated and extremely rare," the investigation is still ongoing.
That phrase is very telling in terms of the veiw many will take about the possible actions of one of the flight crew.

Seems like they are trying to exhaust all avenues of technical fault...
