Lucky there was no fire! Difficult to tell but at first glance it looked like the left main gear failed on landing.

Brave cameraman! Doesn't stop filming while a 10-ton aircraft is careening towards them.

... and continues to film the aftermath instead of either getting help or assisting survivors. But then again... I don't know how I would react when something like that happens right in front of you.

That was my thought when I first saw the video, but at one point you can see that he looks to be outside the boundary fence and behind barbed wire.

The cameraman seems to be filming from a CCTV screen, which in turn seems to be showing the recorded feed of a (fixed) surveillance camera. Not sure what is brave about that.

I would go further an suggest that this is a recording of a playback from a CCTV screen of an event. Unless there was a known issue, I would not imagine anyone would stand around randomly filming CCTV monitors.

My apologies, I missed that completely. It does appear to be a recording from a playback. The camera shake in the clip led me to believe that it was filmed handheld but I should have picked up on the screen edges and such (viewing stuff like this on a phone doesn't help).

Looking at the video it would appear that ICAO runway safeguarding criteria, intended to protect an aircraft and its occupants in the event of such an accident, did not apply?

C'est l'Afrique n'est-ce pas ?
