I’ve not been to Paro. But based on the videos I have seen, it would appear to be a rather challenging approach.

There’s a video taken from the ground of this approach and it doesn’t look much better from outside! They banged the flaps and scraped the fairings also.

Jesus. I've seen more stable approaches from paper airplanes flung across a room!

I really like the ...*BANK ANGLE* ..."bank angle checks" callout, as if exceeding 35 degrees of roll at about 200 agl is a perfectly normal and expected thing to happen.

That and the "Ok.. be careful....don't worry". Unbelievable stuff. Really got their moneys worth on the GPWS.

Edit: I've just watched again with headphones, you can hear someone (presumably PF) saying "sorry sorry!" as they absolutely slap it down

It does say that. But a previous post is mentioning that I don't think anyone here thinks this video is from that phone, just that the RHS has his phone out, and is potentially filming himself. Clearly the video is from a jumpseat occupent. I think that's too many posts regarding something obvious so hopefully that's all cleared up

No it doesn’t. 3 people on the flight deck, at least 2 of whom were videoing.

oh my.... This back and forth posting here about who is videoing what looks exactly like this crew coordination on landing

Only the gear handle looks right in this set up, nothing else! Kind off makes me want to take the crash position in front of my screen.

The right seat passenger is already holding his phone up high...

Between the video itself and people here pointlessly arguing back and forth about who's videoing what I actually have a headache. Then I just saw people on avhearald arguing again that the RHS was the filmer too...even though you are watching a video where you can see the phone....I think it's time to log out and go for a walk.

The jumpseat rider (possibly the obligatory local guy who is trying to guide them) is worried for his sweet life and is evidently very happy at the end to have survived this. Btw if the PF would have followed his "order" to turn right (when he gave it) they wouldn't be famous now.

Hold on! The chap in the right hand seat doesn't even appear to be wearing his shoulder harness! Guess it made filming with his mobile phone too hard.

Eureka.

Dave,

The latter video though somewhat dated, when scrutinised, shows a chap with a mobile phone in his right hand filming the entire approach.

Let’s be under no illusion, It is obviously he who recorded the video.

Leading on, the only conclusion that can possibly be drawn is that said fellow was perched on the right hand seat of the previous landing, which so happens to be the OPs above and just wanted to capture the external view for reassurance.

That said, I cannot help but ponder if there’s
a third party with a mobile phone skulking in the shadows.
