Paro picture perfect landing ...

PK-YGW Tri-M.G. Intra Asia Airlines Boeing 737-300(F) from Indonesia, charter flight June 12th to deliver Covid vaccines to Bhutan. Or so the Internet says ...

Edit: missed it the first time around. The clown (four stripes bought on eBay) in the right seat has it all on video!
Edit 2: Additional Aircraft/Airline info.
Edit 3: Better YouTube Link

I’m gonna pray to the internet gods that an external video of this beaut pops up soon.

Stay classy Indonesia.

Old King Coal 4th Aug 2021 17:15

Landed on the runway; In the touchdown zone; And they can still use the aircraft again (albeit maybe a 'hard landing inspection' would be prudent)... what's not to like?! :}

TURIN 4th Aug 2021 17:31

I'm no pilot but I'm sure I read something about being stable at x thousand feet. 👀🙁

DaveReidUK 4th Aug 2021 20:03

A cynic might suggest that as it's Indonesia, it's not really news ...

Nick 1 4th Aug 2021 20:48

They killed some Covid bacteria on runway...

Not being Pilot either, I've been a passenger into Paro some years ago.
Being "stable at x thousand feet" definitely would result in a crash.

I'm not yet allowed to post links since I have <10 posts, but check the following:

Check youtube 77awaQQNQ 1A "Paro Approach Landing" .
Or youtube lg0Gycvo3MY "Paro International (VQPR / PBH) approach"
Or youtube Kc-3GT8CbUo "Arrival into Paor (Runway 33) - Druk Air A319"

I like how the right hand seat is videoing on his camera phone just to add a little more crew coordination to the melting pot of happy landings

at the end of the vid you can see the right seater holding his phone in his right hand.
At least he was constantly telling the PF to ‘be careful’. I think that helped.

A great example of how it’s NOT done. Probably the the worst handling I’ve ever seen in a jet!

pithblot 5th Aug 2021 08:39

I think Centaurus coined the term “Assault Landing”.

Either he has elastic arms, or we're watching a different video.

Right hand mate, right hand. Watch the video again. He has a phone in his phone in his RIGHT hand which comes into view briefly at the end of the "landing".

27 second mark ..

How can you video your own phone with your own phone? Without using mirrors. Answers on a post card.

Exactly.

The chap in the RHS may or may not be holding a phone, but it's not that phone that has filmed the video we're watching. :ugh:

I don’t think anyone said that he was the cameraman for the video Dave, just that he has his phone out.
