The Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority released a report on Sep 10 regading the serious ATR72 icing- incident back in 2016.

ATR can handle ice well if you follow FCOM recommendation of keeping at least 10- 30 knots(depending on severity) above icing speed bug even if it requires descent. All this mishaps and upsets happen when your experienced captain senses there's clear sky few thousand feet above. Never try to outclimb heavy icing on the ATR unless you wanna see how it spins out of control.

Hi,
According to ATR normal procedure anti icing only is needed for take off ( before taxi )
but can we take off with the wing de icing on ?
Nothing specified on the limitation ?
