UPDATE: The Luscombe 8A, N2889K, was owned and flown by a retired USAF LTC, with his son who was on holiday break from the USAF Academy. The Piper PA-28R, N4407T, was flown by the owner. Witness say the Piper hit the tail of the Luscombe.
