Pilot dies in glider crash on farmland near Basingstoke - BBC News
A pilot died when her glider crashed in a field in Hampshire. The aircraft came down on farmland about five miles south of Basingstoke just before 12:00 BST.
Hampshire Constabulary said the 60-year-old woman - the only person on board - died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed. No-one else was injured.

I was lucky enough to know the pilot who was warm, kind & helpful. The report above doesn't mention it but she was also a former women's world hang gliding champion and a very talented glider pilot. Everyone who knew her is shocked by the news.
