Sounds like the 70% angle is just enough to let the soft tissues in the back of your throat flop back and block your trachea. When you’re standing, lying flat in bed or lying on your side the geometry doesn’t line up the same way so you don’t suffer the same symptoms. Do you perchance snore heavily?
