American aviation customs.....

Although I did most of my training in the UK, I do visit - and fly a rental to see my family in the US. No doubt many British pilots visit and fly in the US.

They celebrate Thanksgiving over there on this coming Thursday. During the Annual Turkey Trot Festival in Yellville, Arkansas, the following custom came to the attention of the FAA; namely, live Turkeys are thrown out of planes.

Said the FAA spokesperson, in an email to Huffpost, "The FAA can't stop people from throwing live turkeys out of planes....Federal Regulations do not specifically prohibit dropping live animals from aircraft. This does not mean we endorse the practice...."
