You use British terminology, like roster and remuneration.
You have the legal right to work in the US?
All airlines require a 4 year degree.
Some are starting to waiver a little on this.

Your best bet may be UPS.
They have an Ontario California base for the 757/767.
I don't know if you'll be able to get ONT straight away.
You may be in Anchorage for a while.
Commuting to ANC from ONT would be easy. Not so sure from OAK.
Lifestyle is only what you make it.
Talk to some UPS people. I'm sure they are in Hong Kong.
Reserve is 14 on - 14 off or 7 on - 7 off or 3 on - 4 off/4 on - 3 off.
Second year pay in over $200,000
Pension is $4200 per year of service, plus 12% B-fund.
Time to upgrade. 7 years.
UPS hires many ex-pats with heavy worldwide command experience.

Fed-Ex has a base in Oakland California.
But they only hire US citizens who have resided in the US for the last six years.
